Thai Sribanditmongkol, affectionately known as “Mr. S,” serves as the Vocal Music Director and Performing Arts Chair at Olentangy Berlin High School. A dedicated music educator and leader, he has been instrumental in shaping the school’s vocal music program since its inception. With a passion for fostering teamwork, independent musicianship, and a deep appreciation for the arts, Mr. S has created a thriving community of young musicians who excel both on and off the stage.
A proud graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, Mr. S earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, where he was deeply involved in a variety of ensembles, including concert choir, marching band, and vocal ensembles. He went on to complete his Master of Arts in Educational Studies – Administration at The Ohio State University in 2016.
Before joining Olentangy Local Schools in 2015, Mr. S served as Vocal Music Director for Heath City Schools (grades 6-12), New Albany Middle School (grades 6-8), and Olentangy Orange Middle School (grades 6-8). His extensive experience in music education spans choir direction, piano accompaniment, and instrumental music, making him a versatile and accomplished educator.
In addition to his work in the classroom, Mr. S is actively involved in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) as an adjudicator and currently serves on the OMEA Adjudicated Events Committee as the Vocal Affairs Chair. His leadership and expertise in music education are recognized across the state.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. S enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations, and dining with his wife Mallory, daughter Nora, and their beloved dog Lucy. His commitment to both his family and his students reflects his belief in the transformative power of music to inspire, connect, and enrich lives.
Under Mr. S’s direction, the Olentangy Berlin High School vocal music program continues to set a standard of excellence, inspiring students to pursue their passion for the arts with creativity and confidence.
